Summer Internship – Nonlinear Resonance NDT

Location: Exeter, UK

Founded as a University of Exeter spin-out, we are developing next-generation inspection systems that expand the limits of quality assurance in advanced manufacturing.

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated engineering or science student to join our team for a summer internship supporting research and development activities in nonlinear resonance NDT.

You will play a key role in creating representative additive manufacturing test pieces and conducting testing using our RD1-TT system. This is an opportunity to gain meaningful, hands-on experience in a real engineering laboratory environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the creation and testing of AM components
• Support test design, data collection, and reporting
• Document technical processes and findings

Required Skills

• Currently studying an engineering or science degree
• Strong analytical and technical ability
• Structured, detail-oriented approach
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Desirable Experience

• CAD and Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
• 3D printing
• Laboratory or workshop experience
• LabVIEW software
